An online daily putting "Hooray!" in your day
Hello and welcome to the inaugural week of The Hooray Daily, a website and Hooray Squad dedicated to bringing greatness into your life in daily, bite sizes. I'm Lee Ann Hopkins, the founder and publisher of The Hooray Daily. You'll hear from me regularly on THD. I'm here to remind you that life is great, so celebrate!
What will you find here at THD? Every week, you'll find a new highlighted video clip, daily motivational and fun "posters", edifying quotes, the Hooray Daily Blog which will be authored by me or one of our Hooray Daily Friends and our weekly Hooray Shout-Outs!
Hooray Shout-Outs provide you an opportunity to send a virtual hug and "woohoo, well done!" to a colleague, friend or family member. We all could use our own pep squad at times, and this is a place for that to happen. You'll find the Hooray Shout-Outs! contact form on the front page and in the Shout-Outs section of this website. So start thinking of your congratulations and good luck messages to your loved ones. We'll begin publishing these next week on the site.
Please wander through these pages and share The Hooray Daily love with your friends by way of Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Delicious and StumbledUpon.
I'm here for you, with love and deep appreciation,

THD's Weekly Schedule
Lee Ann provided the big brushstrokes about The Hooray Daily. Now, here are the gritty details:
The Hooray Daily Blog is offered Monday through Friday. You'll want to read what Lee Ann and friends are thinking and writing. Through personal story and "how-tos" you'll be encouraged. Also, served up Monday through Friday, you'll find daily quotes and motivational posters.
Science Wednesdays are, well...a dose of science served up with your motivation because we believe that all this preachy, positive "can-do" without a foundation is suspect. Bottom line is that good stuff like prayer, meditation, smiling and love works...so we want to do more of it, as well as, to give you what the academic world is saying about positive living.
On Thursdays, we come out with our weekly video clip found somewhere in the hills and valleys of the internet. We comb the internet for these feel-good videos, so you don't have to! (Don't tell my 7th grade teacher that we just ended a sentence with a preposition!)
Other concepts and fun contests are in the works, so stay tuned! When we have other THD news, it will be in this first column! So watch out for the changes each week!
THD's Favorite Video of the Week
Can't think of a better way to launch this feel-good place, The Hooray Daily, than to introduce you to three brothers (Sleepy Man Banjo Boys) from New Jersey who play awesome bluegrass music. Yes, they are from New Jersey and not Kansas, where the best bluegrass festival is held every year in Winfield, Kansas. Here, you'll find them on TED Talks.
Note regarding the Shout-Out requests: for the time being, we ask that you send only two requests per week. When we have a super-smooth, operating machine, aka "intern" in place, then we can accept more hoorays from you! Thanks!
THD Quotes (To Bolster Your Hooray)
Afoote and lighthearted I take to the open road, healthy, free, the world before me. -- Walt Whitman
I have an idea and a first line – and that suggests the rest of it. I have little concept of what I’m going to say, or where it’s going. I have some idea of how long it’s going to be – but not what will happen or what the themes will be. That’s the intrigue of doing it – it’s a process of discovery. You get to discover what you’re going to say and what it’s going to mean.--T.C. Boyle
And suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.--Meister Eckhart
Wherever you are is always the right place. There is never a need to fix anything, to hitch up the bootstraps of the soul and start at some higher place. Start right where you are. -- Julia Cameron
