An online daily putting "Hooray!" in your day
What Do You Do With "How Are You?"
Do you spit? Seethe? Lie? Eye roll? Pull out the rote answer, aim and fire?
“I’m fine, and you?” That was clever. Put it right back on them! That serves them right for asking such a plebian question. Loser…
Okay, that was the first response. Why? Because you really are miserable, or the question roils you because it’s so damned…invasive? How dare they get in my head and heart…Or maybe, you don’t KNOW how you are since you have not taken your emotional temperature in weeks? Or is it just a sucky, meaningless question?
I’m sure that some of us want to counter with, “you don’t really want to know how I am, so don’t ask!” (Okay, it’s really more of a scream inside your head, than it is a “counter” as that sounds way too polite.) The point is, you want to turn tween-ish and tell the questioner to come up with a better greeting. continued at THD Blog

Love Language--A Short Film About How We Connect
Love is a funny thing. As the saying goes, we often find love when we least expect, but it might be equally true that when we do find love it's different than we expected. This beautiful short film was created to raise awareness and money for a good cause, the Jubilee Project, which it did. But it has gone so much further in showing us what love looks like, and how we can connect with each other when we have the courage to break down our own walls and become vulnerable.

THD Quotes (To Bolster Your Hooray)

Since there is nothing so well worth having friends,
never lose a chance to make them.
Did universal charity prevail, earth would be a heaven and hell a fable.
-- Charles Caleb Colton
In necessary things, unity; in doubtful things, liberty;
in all things, charity.
-- Richard Baxter
Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not.
-- Samuel Johnson
